How to join

The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) and Special Assistant to the Resident Coordinator (SARC) Programmes are a great opportunity for young professionals worldwide to get a foothold in the UN system. The programmes provide young professionals pursuing a career in development with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in multilateral technical cooperation and international development.

The selection of JPOs and SARCs is highly competitive. Read in this section the requirements and the procedure to become a JPO or a SARC. Please note that you can only apply when a vacancy is published either on our website or on the partner country's website.
